Ring Art Deco engagement ring in paltinium (hallmark: mascaron), the center of which is adorned with a natural rectangular sapphire with sharp corners (probable origin: Siam) weighing approx. 1.50 Cts, in a setting of diamonds cut 8x8, half-cut and old-fashioned. Total weight of diamonds estimated at approx. 1.00 Ct. Art Deco work, Circa 1920. Gross weight: 6.48gDesign height: 1.90 cmDesign width: 1.50 cm Size: 52 (diameter 16.50 / US 6.00). Condition: very slight micro-scratches on the paltinium parts, natural inclusions in the stones, see photos. The Art Deco movement, short for "Decorative Arts", was born around 1910. It reached its apogee in the 20s, before declining in the 30s. Reacting to the rounded, organic shapes of Art Nouveau, this "Roaring Twenties" style developed geometric, streamlined forms.
