Art Deco Emerald and Diamond Ring
Engagement ring in 18Kt yellow gold and platinum (hallmark: eagle's head) set in its center with a rectangular emerald with sharp corners, weighing approximately 0.35 Ct, in a surround of rose-cut diamonds whose total weight is estimated at approximately 0.10 Ct, and calibrated emeralds. Emerald certified as natural and of Colombian origin (Carat Gem Lab Paris certificate) with minor impregnation noted. French work, Art Deco, circa 1920. Gross weight: 3.38 g Pattern height: 1.10 cm Pattern width: 1.00 cm Ring size: 54 (diameter 17.15/ US 6.75). Condition: very light micro scratches on the gold parts, slight wear of the setting, natural inclusions in the stones, some shocks on the stones, see photos. The Art Deco movement, short for “Decorative Arts,” reached its peak in the 1920s. In reaction to the rounded and organic shapes of Art Nouveau, this style developed geometric and refined forms.
