Burmese ruby and diamond garter ring
Finely carved garter ring in 18kt yellow gold (eagle head hallmarks), set with three oval-shaped rubies (total weight estimated at approximately 2.68 Cts), as well as six rose-cut diamonds, total weight estimated at approximately 0.05Cts. Rubies accompanied by a Carat Gem Lab certificate, specifying natural Burmese rubies with thermal modifications. 19th century French work. Gross weight: 4.00g Ring size: 55 1/2 (diameter 17.50/ US 7.25). Height: 0.70cm Condition: very light micro scratches on the gold parts, and slight wear to the setting, see photos. The so -called "pigeon's blood" ruby is the most sought after for its intense and deep red. The most beautiful and rare ones come from Burma, from the famous Mogok Valley.
