Rare 18kt rose gold and silver (hallmark: owl) navette ring set with blue guilloché enamel decorated with theater-themed motifs (tambourine, lute with sheet music, mask) set with rose-cut diamonds in a surround of old-cut diamonds.Total weight of diamonds estimated at approx. 2.20 Cts. Work of the 18th century, circa 1770-1780. In the 18th and early 19th centuries, rings set with diamonds on dark blue enamel were fashionable in Europe. The most frequently encountered models were the so-called "firmament" rings "firmament" rings (where the diamonds are spread across the enamel like a celestial vault), and the "Memento Mori" mourning rings featuring urns paved with diamonds.
