Roman coin ring Septimius Severus
18kt yellow gold ring (hallmark: owl) decorated with an ancient Roman silver coin. The coin, a denarius, features on the obverse the profile of Septimius Severus, Roman emperor of the 2nd-3rd centuries (193-211), surrounded by the inscription "Severus Pius Augustus" (Severus, Pious Augustus). The reverse shows Roma seated holding the palladium in her right hand and a scepter in her left. Behind her, a shield. The figure is surrounded by the maxim "Restitutor Urbis" (The Restorer of the City). Vintage work for the frame.
