Vendôme: a rendezvous at the heart of creation Description The Vendôme de Cartier? As elegant and timeless as the Place itself! The perfectly round, almost seamless case evokes the simplest watch form. The bracelet, connected to the case by slender horizontal links, seems barely to hold the watch. And of course, a reverent adherence to Cartier's codes: a railway-style minute track, blued hands, and a winding crown adorned with a sapphire cabochon. Utterly refined! Its Must version in gold plating offers this watch two advantages: of course, a more affordable price than its solid gold counterpart, but above all, a break from the classicism of Cartier dials. Large in size, with a superb champagne hue and an elegant bracelet matching the dial, it makes a striking statement on the wrist while remaining very slim and comfortable. How to wear it? This Cartier Vendôme is truly perfect for any occasion. Neither too elegant nor too casual, it's particularly well-suited to everyday life. A true city dweller! Thanks to its champagne dial, it's a beautiful alternative to the classic yellow gold Vendôme, which you'll only find with a white dial. This shade also pairs very easily with various leather colors. Why did Françoise choose her? Just like the square of the same name, the Cartier Vendôme evokes luxury and its subtlety. Françoise loves its fine lines, the elegance of its Roman numerals, and its understated style. The Vendôme also allowed Cartier to offer a model with a round dial, a feature then uncommon at the time, a brand known for its shaped watches. This version with a champagne dial isn't very common on the wrists Françoise sees in Paris. Furthermore, its 30mm diameter makes it a unisex model! History As early as 1934, Louis Cartier patented a new way of attaching leather bracelets: on either side, a horizontal bar is inserted into a kind of central loop fixed to the case. The Cartier Vendôme was introduced around 1973 as a tribute to the eponymous Parisian square, a meeting place for jewelers and watchmakers. The two clasps are said to evoke the two streets leading to Place Vendôme: rue de la Paix and rue de Castiglione. In the same years, Cartier launched its Must range in gold and silver plating, to offer the iconic designs of the house at more attractive prices for young people.
