The essence of 1960s Swiss elegance.
Édition Unique presents here a mechanical Longines watch in yellow gold 18 k (750), typical of the refined, measured style of the late 1960s.
This timepiece illustrates the period when the Saint-Imier factory was still designing its own movements, before caliber standardization. Fine, balanced and precise, it embodies gentleman's watchmaking: a subtle, timeless art of mastery.
Caliber 420, launched in 1965, derives directly from the famous 30L, a movement renowned for its robustness and precision. It bears witness to the watchmaking expertise of an era when Longines produced its own calibres in a spirit of mechanical excellence and discreet elegance.

Overhaul & condition
Complete overhaul carried out by Longines World Service (Saint-Imier, Switzerland) in October 2025:
- complete dismantling of caliber 420 ;
- replacement of glass, hands and defective components;
- cleaning, lubrication and chronometric adjustment;
- issue of an official Longines warranty card (valid until November 2027).
The watch is now in excellent overall condition. The yellow gold case retains its lustre, with no noticeable scratches, and the signed crown still has its original finish. The dial, original and unrestored, shows a few slight time marks between 2, 3 and 4 o'clock, as well as on the small seconds counter. These discreet traces contribute to the watch's charm: they recall its authenticity, its preserved history and the assertive choice of Edition. Unique to never "freeze" time, but to sublimate it.
