Necklace Medal in yellow gold
Important 18-carat gold half-moon medal stamped on the front and reverse from designs by engravers J. Duval and G. Revillon. The front shows Saint-Georges on horseback, slaying the dragon. The reverse depicts a ship in a storm. Below, in bas-relief, the Latin inscription 'In tempestae securitas', safety in the storm, reminds us that Saint-Georges protects during trials. French work from the early 20th century, probably made for Arthus-Bertrand. Eagle head hallmark for 18-carat gold and maker's hallmark (J D). Height including lock: 2.8 cm. Width 1.9 cm.
